Welcome...
At Poppins Educational Services we work to help each child feel safe, secure and supported in our hands-on experiences where they can learn and grow until they have reached their full potential. With a strong focus on hands on learning educators work with children as they learn about themselves and the world that surrounds them.
Our educators know that children learn best when they are involved so the creation of our learning programs is effected by the children and their families. Our service offers care at each families discretion and caters to children between the ages of 6weeks right up until 12years.
We have a strong focus on play-based learning for all children in line with the Belonging, Being and Becoming Framework in early childhood and with primary school children we follow the My Time, Our Place Framework.

ROLE: OWNER AND TEACHER IN TRAINING
As an educator with eight years experience I feel that the importance of children being able to achieve their full potential through their individual interests, skills and abilities is the most important factor in the education of children. I have worked in a long daycare centre in Sydney for six and a half years where I worked to nurture and assist in the growth and development of all children that came into my care. During this time I completed my Certificate III and Diploma of children's services. During the last few years at the centre I was also working to complete a bachelor of education (birth to 12 years). It was a sad choice to leave the centre to better focus on my studies. While concentrating more closely on my studies I worked one on one with several families to care for their children in their own homes. This was a new experience for me as it allowed me to focus my care and education skills in a more one on one environment. I was also able to incorporate the family environment into the dynamics of my teaching structure which as I have discovered is where children become comfortable and confident learners first.
During this time I resolved that I would use my skills and passion for educating children in the home environment. It was through personal experience that I found when children are in a familiar environment such as the home they are more inclined to try new experiences that they otherwise would not attempt. My studies were interrupted after only completing two and half years as I moved over to Perth with my partner for his work. It was once I moved to Perth that I had the incentive to begin my business which would allow me to offer children and families a more personal education experience that will hopefully allow each children to become the best they can be. As I left Sydney before completing my studies I will be completing a bachelor of education (primary) at Edith Cowan University as of February 2018...
